Introduction
This 'blog' is intended as a resource to support my DVD trading of rare and unreleased film and television recordings of my favourite bands and musicians. At one extreme that's Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen through to the likes of Bjork, Pink Floyd and Hawkwind at the other. If you're interested in a particular artist click on their name on the left menu for relevant posts. I also maintain a number of web sites which are listed at the top of the panel on the right - there's more information here for the artists covered. These sites will link back to this blog increasingly if the idea works out. The main blog item is the Trading List which has all the DVDs available. I prefer to trade for other DVDs, but recognising everyone has to start somewhere or may not have the facilities to copy discs, will also trade for other memorabillia, books, official DVDs and even PayPal donations to support the running of the sites and the quest for new material. Enjoy the site, StephenMonth Archive

My latest Hawkwind DVD list (Check out my Do Not Panic site for more info):
Compilations TV appearances and other non-commercially available film. Do Not Panic Volume 1 - 13 tracks plus various TV and film clips - includes 1972 Silver Machine *** Do Not Panic Volume 2 - Australia 2000 / Promo Collection 1992 / UK 2002 *** Do Not Panic Volume 3 - Selections from Concerts, Festivals, Private Parties 1979-1988 * Do Not Panic Volume 4 - More audience & Hawkwind Merchandising films 1982-2000 ** Concert Films Most shows now are probably being filmed, at least in part, by digicam wielding members of the audience. The films range from shaky, distant, dark, obscured, impossible to watch through to steady, clear, close films with great sound. There's virtually nothing from the 70's or 80's but the 90's and 00's are well covered. The ratings: * - fairly tough going - hardcore fans only; ** - not bad, watchable for long stretches; *** - Prety good or better throughout; Note the tracks listed are the whole gig set list - not necessarily what is on the film - I'll tidy this up when I get a chance... 1980-1989 Edinburgh 1982 - ** (probably the Hawkwind Merchandising deleted VHS release) Bochum 1987 - * Treworgey Tree Fayre 1989 - ** (Taste Productions deleted VHS release) 1990-1999 Bournemouth 1990 - ** (Taste Productions deleted VHS release) Cleveland 1990 - * Bochum 1991 - * Hemel 1992 - *** Brixton 1992 - * (Taste Productions deleted VHS release) Brixton 1993 - * Stuttgart 1993 - * Springfield 1995 - ** Bochum 1995 - ** Chicago 1997 - ** 2000-2006 Aukland 2000 - ** Blackburn 2005 - * Loreley 2005 - ** Donnington 2005 Athens 2005 Birkenhead 2005 - * Manchester 2005 - **

February 2007: Bob Dylan: Dont Look Back: 65 Tour Deluxe Edition DVD
BOB DYLAN: DONT LOOK BACK--65 TOUR DELUXE EDITION is the ultimate look at Bob Dylan's concert tour of England in the spring of 1965--one of the most intimate profiles of an artist ever put to film. This definitive set includes the remastered classic film by D.A. Pennebaker, a brand-new, hour-long look at Dylan, and the original 168-page companion book to the film. More than just a concert film, DONT LOOK BACK is a window into the spirit of the 60s, and one of the poet-musicians whose words and songs defined it. DISC 1: BOB DYLAN DONT LOOK BACK This digitally-remastered version of the cinema verite classic follows Dylan on his extraordinary 1965 concert tour of England--his last as an acoustic performer. With unobtrusive equipment and rare access to Dylan, legendary filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker achieved an unprecedented, fly-on-the-wall glimpse of one of music's most influential figures--and redefined filmmaking along the way. DISC 2: BOB DYLAN 65 REVISITED Forty years after the release of DONT LOOK BACK, D.A. Pennebaker ahs created this new work culled from over 20 hours of never-before-seen rare footage from his personal archive of film negatives. Raw and unassuming, 65 REVISITED provides a fresh perspective of the young Dylan on the road during his 1965 English tour. |
